The challenge is keeping every bearing line tied to the current drawing revision while prototype and production quantities follow different schedules. Design engineers and planners care most about the exact SKF execution, approved alternatives and a delivery date for each build stage.

• Check the full designation, including clearance, cage and lubricant suffixes such as C3, TN9 or W33, because these details affect fit, operating temperature and service life in the assembly.
• Choose super-precision angular contact or cylindrical roller bearings for machine tool spindles, and confirm the arrangement, preload class and lubrication before releasing the design.
• Lock the bearing execution during the prototype stage so that production builds use the same specification that passed run-in testing.
• Plan prototype and production requirements as separate BOM quantities, each with its own required date, so that a small trial build does not set the schedule for series assembly.
